As a Commercial Construction Superintendent, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality ground-up and tenant improvement commercial projects throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth market. You'll lead field operations, coordinate trade partners, and work closely with our Project Management team to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to ECI's quality standards.

The Opportunity
The Commercial Construction Superintendent is responsible for leading all day-to-day field operations while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and to ECI's quality standards.
Success in this role requires more than technical construction knowledge. It requires leadership, communication, accountability, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate challenges and develop solutions before they impact the project.
What You'll Do
Project Leadership
Lead field operations from mobilization through project completion.
Develop, maintain, and update project schedules.
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, consultants, and municipal agencies.
Organize and conduct weekly subcontractor coordination meetings.
Drive field production while maintaining safety, quality, and schedule expectations.
Hold trade partners accountable while maintaining professional working relationships.
Safety & Quality
Enforce OSHA standards and ECI safety policies.
Conduct weekly onsite toolbox safety meetings.
Coordinate inspections and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable building codes.
Generate and manage punch lists through project closeout.
Maintain exceptional attention to detail throughout every phase of construction.
Take ownership of project quality and ensure work meets ECI's expectations.
Communication & Documentation
Complete daily reports, progress photos, and project documentation in Procore.
Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, Engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Maintain clear and assertive communication in the field.
Respond promptly to requests from office staff and project stakeholders.
Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Field Coordination
Read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP construction documents.
Coordinate subcontractor scheduling, sequencing, and manpower.
Review and verify subcontractor change orders and associated labor/material impacts.
Manage material deliveries, equipment logistics, and overall site coordination.
Coordinate with local building and development departments as required.
Maintain a strong understanding of horizontal and vertical commercial construction, including sitework, cut and fill, utilities, structural systems, and MEP applications.
Identify potential conflicts and challenges early and proactively develop effective solutions.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate demonstrates:
Proven Superintendent experience with a Commercial General Contractor.
Experience leading ground-up and tenant improvement commercial construction projects.
Strong understanding of horizontal and vertical commercial construction.
Strong knowledge of architectural, structural, civil, and MEP coordination.
Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
Strong scheduling and subcontractor coordination abilities.
Clear, professional, and assertive communication.
The ability to motivate and hold subcontractors accountable.
A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
Exceptional attention to detail.
High ethical standards and personal accountability.
A commitment to delivering exceptional client experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
Procore experience.
Microsoft Project experience.
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Experience working with municipal building departments and inspectors.
Valid driver's license and dependable transportation.

Additional Information
This is a full-time position supporting projects within the Dallas–Fort Worth market.
This is not intended to be a traveling Superintendent position. Our goal is to keep our Superintendents working within their assigned market.
A valid Texas Driver's License is required. Candidates relocating from out of state must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 60 days of employment.
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
As part of our hiring process, candidates complete a behavioral assessment. This assessment helps us better understand communication styles, strengths, and work preferences and is one of several tools we use to support long-term success for both our employees and our team.
Certain phases of a project may require additional hours to meet critical project milestones.
Commercial General Contractor experience is required. Candidates whose experience is limited to residential or multifamily construction will not be considered.
