Central Texas Based Commercial General Contracting firm seeking a Project Coordinator for new commercial construction projects in the Austin, Texas Area.

The candidate will be responsible for project administrative support to ground up and interior improvement projects that typically range in size from one and half to ten million per project. The project types include ground up restaurants to retail to medical to educational, etc..

A successful candidate must have the inner drive and ability to daily communicate/coordinate with the Project Manager they are supporting and to also do the same with Superintendents, consultants along with other team members. Critical role is to help maintain that each project is staying the course relative to ‘document management’ and this oversight can include, but not limited to:

· Collect, review & distribute submittals

· Ability to read & comprehend Plans & Specs

· Ability to draft Subcontracts & PO scopes from Plans & Specs

· Updating & maintaining project directories in Procore

· Track Plan design changes & associated costs

· Ability to help the Estimating team collect & qualify bids

· Work with the superintendent to track & update logs/spreadsheets for misc. subcontractor back charges

· Track change events thru Procore & issue subcontractor change orders when requested

· Track, coordinate & update project schedules in Microsoft Project & Procore

· Take detailed notes at weekly OAC meetings & update meeting minutes

· Pre-construction & Closeouts

· Safety Compliance

· Other miscellaneous project administrative tasks as requested by Project Manager or Superintendent

Candidate must be professional, integrity driven, and possess the communication skills to help achieve self-development within the company. This position could require the support of a minimum of 5 projects at any given time.

Responsibilities:

The following is a list of the major responsibilities of the Project Coordinator:

  • Proficient (or able to quickly integrate) with Procore (Construction Management Software)
  • Input with pre-construction and closeout processes
  • Support estimating team when needed
  • Have confidence in your own ability to intelligently communicate with not only your peers but all other involved partners towards the execution of any given project
  • Push for timely submissions/reviews of all shop drawings and other required submittal approvals and follow ups
  • Get familiar with the overall project schedule to help towards tracking the timing of all document management
  • Routinely attend OAC project meetings
  • Help to monitor that site safety is being addressed via observations made during site visits
  • Other Duties as assigned or needed to fulfil job requirements
  • This is a 40+ hour position, salary exempt professional - Benefits (Health/Dental/401k) are provided for salaried positions.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this position we request, but not demand, the following skills, attributes, and abilities:

  • College degree (Construction Management is a plus)
  • Knowledge of the Construction Industry and its processes
  • Understanding of construction terms, scheduling, and planning
  • Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, Excel, etc. (Microsoft Project would be a plus)
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
